Who is Angus? Angus is our departments Dalmatian mascot and an official member. Angus got his name when he rode a fire truck to a structure fire at the Angus Barn restaurant. Somebody thought the name was a good one, and it just stuck.
Angus is a true member of our firefighting team. He is a key
participant in our fire prevention efforts. He has assisted our
firefighters in teaching many preschool children to stop, drop and roll.
Since Angus is an official member of the department you may see him riding on apparatus responding to calls. On several occasions Angus has beat our crews, stretching a handline, to the front door of a house on fire. His "on-scene" presence has helped calm frightened persons young and old.
Come by and visit Angus at the fire station on Norwood Road, just don't be frightened by his bark and smile when he greets you.
In the coming months we will add more pictures of our favorite mascot, stay tuned.
