Angus as a TAR HEEL TRAVELER
Click the image to see the feature story on WRAL's TAR HEEL TRAVELER show hosted by Scott Mason. It was a very nice story profiling Angus. Where he got his name, and what it's like in the firehouse, always knowing Angus was there.
Bett from Tacoma , WA
It's 11:24 pm out here now on the west coast in WA. I just watched your video sharing the passing of Dear Angus on the 23rd. I cried my eyes out and still am writing this email. You folks are sooooooooooo loving. And to see all those fire trucks at the end, and carrying him in respect. I have to reach out at this hour and give you and your fire station a big 'ole hug. Yep! Have to do it. I am on my 4th Dalmatian of my lifetime. Current Dal is 3 years old and her name is Lily-Pad. I have had two boys and two girls in my living years and would not be golden and so loving without them. My last Dal, Lucy, died in Sept '06 at 15.5 years. Your tribute of Angus in his contribution to education of the community was beautiful. You are special people, absolutely nothing but loving folks. And God loves you and Angus, and reaches out to each and everyone of us and you because of his huge loving, caring, giving heart - his mission and legend. A BIG 'ole Dalmatian lover hug to you all. BETT:, on the West Coast. _____________________________________________________________________ Debi from Dalmatian Rescue of SW Virginia We just wanted to offer our condolences on the loss of Angus. We have followed his story for the past couple of years after one of our adopters in your area told us about him. We know how hard it is to let them go. Bless you guys for giving him such a wonderful life. _____________________________________________________________________ Baker Words cannot even express what Angus Highway has meant to our community. He has been an invaluable symbol for Durham Highway and the best fire house dalmatian anyone could ask for. The 16 House will never feel the same without him, he will be forever missed and remembered. We love and will miss you buddy. ______________________________________________________________________ Melanie Good bye Sweet Angus... the sweet puppy that greeted me for training each time I walked through the door!!! You will be missed!! Durham Highway was lucky to have you as a fierce companion!!! _____________________________________________________________________ Will I remember when Angus was a pup. Throughout the time that I was there before him and following his arrival, there was a difference in that house, but moreover within the department. We used to get a kick out of him running down the hallway trying to make the turns; often sliding across the slick tile floor into the wall or front glass until he learned his footing. He would always greet you when you walked into the station with that funny little grin he is so famous for. No matter what kind of day you were having, he would always make it better. You have been a faithful and loyal friend to us all Angus. We are better to have had you as part of our family. We will see you again very, very soon and we cannot wait until you greet us at the door once again as we enter our newly assigned house in the sky when our bell rings for us to return to quarters; much like yours will soon. God's speed and restful peace to you my Brother in Fire. Until we ride with you once again at your new assignment. The 16 House, Heaven FD. ____________________________________________________________________ Laura To the Members, Family, and Friends of Durham Highway Fire Department: I would like to extend my sincere condolences. As I was sitting in the radio room at Stony Hill Fire Dept the other day, I heard Durham Highway contact Raleigh Central. I listened to the Heartfelt and Honorable Farewell anouncing Angus had "Returned Home". I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. However, I believe he has moved on to a better place. I know Angus was and forever will be, a part of your family at Durham Highway. Angus will be greatly missed by many. He touched the hearts of countless people over the years ( As well as some lunch and dinner plates too ") Most likely, it would be difficult to find a Wake County firefighter who had never met Angus at some point. Angus leaves behind many friends, memories and stories. May he rest in peace knowing he was loved by so many. Angus, may be "Gone for now, but he shall never be Forgotten"... |
