DHFD sends help to Durham Co Brush Fire
Monday 4/16/2012

Picture
Durham highway was called by units from the Bethesda FD in Durham County, to assist with bringing a large multi-acre wildfire under control.

Durham Highway sent a pumper and Brush truck to the area of Leesville Rd near Carpenter Pond Rd about 3 PM. Units spent 2 1/2 hours fighting the fire that was being fueled by dry and breezy conditions.

As part of a Mutual Aid agreement counties will send needed resources to each other. This allows for the correct resources to be sent when and where needed. It's a cost effective and useful tool for handling incidence in neighboring jurisdictions.
