Departments hard work results in good news for district residents.
"I'd like to congratulate Chief Feely for his department's performance and for the hard work of all the department members," said Commissioner Goodwin. "The citizens in the Durham Highway Fire District should rest easy knowing they have a fine group of firefighters protecting them and their property in case of an emergency."
Durham Highway FD spends hours training, to not only be the best prepared FD when the bell rings, but we train just as hard to provide the residents of our district with the lowest possible insurance rates. You (our district residents) may not know this, but insurance rates are in large part based on the service that your fire department is able to provide.
ISO has been a leading source of information about property/casualty insurance risk. For a broad spectrum of commercial and personal lines of insurance. Recently Durham Highway FD underwent an audit from the ISO organization of everything aspect of the department with an eye towards how well we protect our constituents. They spend days reviewing everything from the number and quantity of trucks we can bring to bear to any emergency situation. They look at what we carry on those trucks, our training records, our ability to work with surrounding departments, how many hydrants and how far apart they are. They look at, and verify every aspect of your fire department. We are very pleased to announce that this latest review resulted in a 4/9 (known as a 4 slash 9). What does this mean to you? If you own commercial property in our Fire District you may be entitled to lower insurance rates. Check with your agent and show them this document. |
