Meet the members of Durham Highway FD
Our membership is made up from a diverse cross-section of our community, all with the following thought in mind. Fellow citizens in service to their community. This is not a small effort, as the training requirements for our personnel both career and volunteer, are very demanding and identical. While we are a Fire Department, our department responds to more than just fire related calls. Our department has a history of identifying community service needs, and then training to fill that need. The department currently responds to all fire, medical, hazardous material and rescue needs in our district.
The varied response needs of our district requires constant and vigilant training from our members. This is a serious job, and we take it seriously. Many of our younger trained volunteer members go on to become career personnel for the many area city fire departments. This speaks well as to the initial training we provide.
Below you'll meet the volunteers and career staff of the Durham Highway Volunteer Fire Department. These people along with Angus, our department mascot, provide 24 hour coverage to the district. We are proud of our membership and their devotion to the community, you should be too.
