DHFD Stands by at Wake Forest Station 1 Monday 1/20/2012
Units from Wake Forest, Falls, Stony Hill and Bay Leaf FD's responded to a working residential structure fire in the Wake Forest area. The house was heavily involved in fire upon their arrival. It became clear to command that units would have to be called in from other departments to cover their districts. Durham Highway had 2 full crews allowing one of them to cover Wake Forest station #1.
DHFD units in the area for a pedestrian struck on 540
_Durham Highway's Rescue 5 was dispatched to assist Morrisville FD units for a car accident off Kit Creek Dr in the late afternoon Monday. While returning from Morrisville, The Rescue 5 crew
was alerted to a dispatch for a pedestrian struck on I-540 Eastbound near Lumley rd. and
immediately responded to that location. DHFD personnel treated the
patient and provided scene lighting and the mobile command post for the lengthy police investigation.
DHFD personnel are authorized to add themselves to a call if they are in the area or feel they can make a difference in a call by adding personnel or equipment.
