Excessive Temps can't stop our work Thursday 6/28/2012
Even when temps topping 105 degrees units from Durham Highway, Durham County and Durham City responded to a reported woods fire near Hwy 98 and Coley Rd in Durham this morning.
Upon arrival, Durham County units asked for help from Durham City and Durham Highway to bring the small woods fire under control. As units were making progress when it was discovered that a piece of heavy timber cutting equipment was also involved. Numerous water supply issues had to be overcome to get enough water delivered to the area involved. Units remained on scene for 2 hours.

DHFD responds to a reported house fire Monday 6/11/2012
DHFD units responded to the report of house on fire on Amoretto Way. 911 center updated units while en route and said that it was the upstairs smoke detector and that the dryer was sparking. It was determined that the dryer was faulty and needed to be unplugged because of random sparking. The breaker box was checked and the dryer fuse was shut off so that the dryer plug could be removed from the outlet. Units went back into service shortly thereafter.
Another day another rollover Tuesday 6/6/2012
Crews responded with Raleigh FD units to yet another rollover accident this morning. Pumper 1 and Rescue 5 responded to the motor vehicle accident at Westgate Park Dr. and Floretta Place near the post office. Upon arrival, units found one patient that was out of the vehicle w/ minor injuries. Raleigh Engine 24 also responded and assisted with EMS care. While in-route to this call, a second 911 call was dispatched for Durham Highway to assist with someone having breathing difficulties. A second truck responded.
Yep ! Another Rollover Friday 6/8/2012
Yet again, units from Durham Highway were called out to a reported rollover accident. This time on I 540 near Glenwood Ave. When units arrived the car was on all four wheels straddling the center divider wire barrier. After checking for injuries, and for any hazardous fluids and that the vehicle was secure. With the State IMAP team on scene units were back service. This marks the 3rd rollover accident in the last week.
Ray & Boxelder Rollover Accident Monday 6/4/2012
Crews were dispatched to the intersection of Ray Rd and Boxelder Rd for a single vehicle car accident that involved the car rolling over with no reported injuries. Once on scene, crews verified there were no patients to be cared for. The car was then checked for hazards and secured then handed over to the State Highway Patrol for their investigation into the accident. Crews reported back in service shortly thereafter.
